Step One:
Move the last remaining remanants of dh's old office out of the soon-to-be nursery. Notice how much bigger the room appears now without all the clutter.
Step Two:
Cancel trip to my favorite store IKEA. (This is something you will not hear about often!)
Step Three:
Pick up mom and head over to sister's house. Form a plan of attack.
Step Four:
Shop. Go to the big Baby Store and ooh and ahh at all the cute outfits. Finally get back to the bedding! Decide that nothing here is exactly right, but find a fallback set if all else fails.
Step Five:
Shop more. Get more creative. Come up with several ideas. Aggravate mother and sister because I can't decide on what color, style or pattern to use.
Step Six:
Keep shopping. Same result!
Step Seven:
Go to the fabric store. That's right. When all else fails, make it yourself... or have your mother make it for you. Search for color palette. See something you like. Step back. Reconsider. Step back again.
Step Eight:
Take home fabric samples. Show to dh. Get annoyed because he won't pay attention when you are trying to explain the plan for the bedding, curtains, and upholstery. Smile when he says he's just glad you've decided on something and he wouldn't dare say he didn't like it!
Step Nine:
Set a time to meet with the team (mom and sis) for breakfast and paint shopping. Plan to buy fabric afterwards if you find a good paint color.
Step Ten:
Look at the fabric swatches again... and again. Decide you like them. Sigh of relief that a decision has been made. Hope you still like them tomorrow.
